About Bay Area Psychiatry©

Bay Area Psychiatry© is the practice of Deval A. Shah, M.D.   He is a Stanford and Emory University trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist.  He also has two Board Certifications in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Shah is from Cleveland, Ohio.  He completed his undergraduate education in his hometown at Case Western Reserve University, graduating with B.A. degrees in psychology and political science (honors) and a minor in biology.   He also completed his medical education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. 

He completed a 4 year psychiatry residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then came to Stanford University for a 2 year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  After his 6 years of postgraduate training, he has worked in multiple settings including the counties of San Mateo, San Francisco and Alameda, non profit organizations, both adolescent and adult inpatient hospitals,  juvenile justice as well as his current full time private practice. 

He has extensive experience in all areas of psychiatry with specialization in child, adolescent and adult ADHD as well as mood disorders and anxiety in all age groups.
